BIO

Anna discovered her love for painting 20 years ago. Coinciding with a move to New England, the rugged beauty of its rocky shores and coastal marshes inspired her to continue painting while navigating her career as an architect. Since 2020, Anna has been painting full-time, attending several remarkable workshops and residencies throughout remote parts of Maine and Cape Cod. The friendships she made and the landscapes she encountered along the way continue to lay the foundation for her work. Thanks to her husband and family who converted their garage to a studio, Anna can be found painting in her quiet space in Salem, MA.

STATEMENT

My paintings depict the experience of being in a cherished place - real or imagined. Using color, form, and transparency of medium, the images become abstracted landscapes. My goal is to re-create the experience and feeling of a site, so the viewer can like-wise be transported by their imagination and memories to places that are close to their hearts.
